If we detect a Piazza account with your Microsoft Teams email, you’ll automatically be taken to your Piazza account from within Teams. 

If, however, we do not detect a Piazza account with the email address that is associated with your Teams account, you will need to manually log in to Piazza, or create a Piazza account if you don’t already have one. In which case, you will see a prompt like this:

Once you log in with an existing Piazza account, your Microsoft Teams email will automatically be associated with that Piazza account. The next time you try to access Piazza through Teams you will not need to log in again.

If you do not have an existing Piazza account, click the link at the bottom of the page to create a new Piazza account. On the next page, you will be prompted to enter a password so that you can access Piazza from our main website as well as access our mobile apps.

Once you’ve logged in or created your account, you will be taken to a page where you can search your school on Piazza. You can create a new school by clicking ‘Add New School’ in the dropdown menu if you don’t see your school on Piazza. (If we detect a school with your Teams or Piazza email address, you’ll skip this step and be taken to a page where you can add one of your existing classes to your Team, or create a new one.)

You will need to enter a valid school email address confirming that you belong to this school. Once you enter your school email, you will receive an email with a verification code. Enter the verification code on the next screen. (If your Teams email address or Piazza email address is already affiliated with your school email domain, you will not be asked for a valid school email.)

After you’ve entered your school and confirmed that you belong to this school with a valid school email, you can continue with creating your class in the next step. To see a detailed page on how to create a class from here, check out this support page.
